Wow, it has been a very very very long time since the last time I made a blogpost. I wanted to post the photos taken during my birthday as the next post after that SPG video, but I have been very busy since then for my FYP and other things.
Haiz, since the last holiday on September, my FYP has been very demanding. Up until now, our progress is still not as fast as how we wanted it to be. Now I have the feeling that I won't be able to finish my FYP on time... =.=
This semester's term break started 2 days ago on Monday. Yesterday, I watched New Moon with my friends. I still don't understand why girls like it so much....really don't understand. One of my friend that went to watch this movie together with me said that the movie is very good. Hmm..is something wrong with me? Or, am I just perfectly normal?? Cos 99% of my other friend which are guys also said that the movie is rather, uh, hard to be understood.. same thing happens when we see a girl's face after she watches a movie like "Transformers"..I don't know...haha

Sungei Buloh Mini Expedition
Singapore Polytechnic Overseas Community Service Team 2010 had done a mini expedition in Sungei Buloh. The activities included long-grass planting, nursery boxes preparation, night survey, mangrove salvaging and bird-nest construction. These are the photo taken by me with my digital cam. Pretty obvious that the photographer is still inexperienced..hahaha
This random photo was taken few months ago. Even a sunny-side up can smile at you.

This photo is taken in my lab when I was doing my FYP. It was a quite colorful gel electrophoresis casting.

Due to my FYP, I missed the celebration of Mid-Autumn festival this year. Nevertheless, thanks to Siswanto, I was still able to enjoy the moon-cake with some of my friends. FYI, this charcoal-powder coated durian moon-cake is worth $15.

But despite the price, Siswanto, the moon-cake 'salesman', said that boxes of this moon-cake is sold like hotcakes, and mostly the rich people from Jakarta are the buyers.

Last week of September
First month of holiday is going to end soon. Hmm, let's recall some of the activities. One day after the exam, my class, DBT/2b21 had our class outing with our tutor, Dr. Cui Taian. It was arranged last minute bcos of some issues regarding the SP allowance for class outing. The place was at fc5, so, I should better call it as class school-ing instead of class outing..haha :D
Preparing the ingredients for Cookery Class
On the next day, SP International Students Club started their preparation for the Residential Project at Yong En Center, which is located at ChinaTown.
In between of the activities and meetings, FYP is my regular costumer. Most of the time is spent in our lab at T1A. SPGuitarist holiday practices and future planning also fills in my last few spaces in my holiday agenda. Now the juniors at School of Classical Guitar are preparing for their first concert on 7th October. They will be performing Rhythm of the Rain at Dance@Moberly, together with other members from School of Acoustic Guitar and School of Electric Guitar, who will present their holiday project of song writing. Good luck to all of you!
FYI: The concert is open to public! Free admission!

09/09/09
Children can always amaze you. You will be startled if sometimes, you see that they can think and/or act as 'logical' as you. They can learn super fast as well. Their brain's absorbing power is like a cotton ball's ability to absorb water. Sometimes I wonder, why as we getting older, it seems like it is more difficult to 'absorb' new things, as in our study (I remember that it was just super-difficult to remember the 8 hormones produced by a particular part of our brain and their functions) and in terms in learning soft life-skills such as "how to be a good person", or maybe, "how to understand others' feelings", etc. Why? Well, what do you think? haha..
I was a one of the student helpers on Life-Science Camp which took place on 8th and 9th of September. Some of the my reasons of joining this activity are to get different exposure with different people at different ages, and to observe the effectiveness and influence of different types of education for primary school students. And, guess what, there was a two-way learning, and in fact, there are may things that I can learn from them also.
Oh ya, do you realize that today's date is 'cool'? 9th of September 2009. Many people say that this date-numbering is very rare since in will only happen once in 100 years. That's why many people choose today to do something special, for example, as a launching date of a movie, marriage, etc2. But, if we look from other point of view, each and every day is actually unique. Let's take another date, 9 Sept 1999 (09/09/99). This number will also happen only in every 100 years, same as 09/09/09. And actually, each and every date will only have the same number again in every 100 years interval. So, we have to cherish and be thankful for each day that we may have been taking for granted. Every moment is special.
Few days have passed since the holiday started last week. I hope the rest of the holiday will be more and more enjoyable.

One sem has passed
As I write this, 1 hour 15 minutes have passed after my last exam. Well, this is the end of my '4th season' in SP. This semester has been the most 'pressuring' months here in Singapore. There are a lot of learning experience, as well as many pain, fatigue and utter disappointment, have come inside the story. For instance, one of the most disappointing event was when you are finally aware that your bunch of effort is meaningless. Picture a situation, when you are given a big FAT hope to be the first in your family to go to somewhere in Europe. But, at the end of the day, some arrogant and self-centered people ruined it, and I'm sure, some people, not only me, also shared the same disappointment. Haha, sounds pretty bad, eh? This is just for sharing purposes only.
Hmm, I can say that I have forgotten when was the last time I was filled with a 'jug of happiness'. Was it after Whampoa? Hmm, maybe it was not that long. But I remember that some series of events that sum up together around January and February were the starters of the problems. And, it was getting worse as the time rolled. I remember one of my Philippine OCS teammate asked me, "Hey, why do you never 'dance' (which was actually a soft word for 'exaggerated forfeit', hahaha..) for us anymore??" I think I still owe her a few banana dances..haha =P
The holiday, which has been packed with a lot of things is just one step ahead. But again, I'm sure there will be a lot of learning there.

The Beauty of Indonesia
This is my country. Carved to its perfect and excellent shape by our amazing and mighty God. Look at her beauty and grace. Look at the fantastic beaches, lake and mountains. Look at the white peacock, comodo dragon, orangutan. Look at the wonderful culture..
I'm sure you will envy me. Despite those temporary problems caused by several greedy and power-thirsty people, I still love Indonesia..~Indonesia, tanah air beta. Pusaka abadi nan jaya. Indonesia, sejak dulu kala, selalu dipuja-puja bangsa. Disana, tempat lahir beta, dibuai, dibesarkan bunda. Tempat berlindung di hari tua. Sampai akhir menutup mata~
